- 3. THE MAP IS NOT THE TERRITORY • Confusing the map with the territory is common and the problem is not confined to modern science. It is an easy mistake to make. • “Insofar as Mathematics corresponds with reality, it is not precise. Insofar as it is precise it does not correspond with reality.” ~Albert Einstein • The strange and obviously incorrect ideas of astrophysics are nearly all of this ilk. They are the product of mathematics and bear very little relationship to actual observations of the heavens. • However it is just as easy to make the same mistake and believe, for example, that some deduction you have made based on the octave is correct, because “it fits.” Mappa Mundi

THE LAW OF THREE REVISITED • It always happens in order, first the active force then the passive and finally the neutralizing. • We call the substances when the three forces act through them: Carbon, Oxygen and Nitrogen • The third force through which the neutralizing force manifests is never the result. It always remains unchanged by the event. • The result is always a substance created by the blending of the substances carrying the active and passive forces.

THE LATERAL (SIDE) OCTAVE FROM THE SUN • Initially the Ray of Creation cannot progress past the note fa. • The Sun sounds the note do of a lateral octave and this creates the conditions by which the interval can be filled. • The note si (under 48 laws) blends with the note fa of the Ray of Creation. The note mi and re blend with mi of the Earth and re of the Moon respectively. • Organic life on Earth fills the interval between the planets and the Earth allowing influences from the planets to reach Earth. • Organic life on Earth also plays a role in respect of the growth of the Moon. It creates substances that feed the Moon, helping to create its atmosphere.

ORGANIC LIFE ON EARTH • This diagram illustrates the Law of Three in The Ray of Creation. • In respect of the lateral octave from the Sun we are concerned with two triads. • In the first triad, organic life carries the neutralizing force, enabling substances of of the planets to blend with substances of the Earth. (Planets active, Earth passive) • In the second, the Earth is neutralizing, Organic life is passive and Moon active. This triad enables substances of organic life to blend with substances of the Moon. This feeds the Moon.

- 8. ORGANIC LIFE: A TRANSMITTING STATION • Organic life is the neutralizing force. This means that a substance of the planets mixes with a substance of the Earth in a way that is mediated by organic life. • The result is a substance (knowledge perhaps) that serves the Earth. • Organic life is thus a transmitting station for influences that would otherwise never reach the Earth. As the carrier of the neutralizing force it is unchanged by that action of the planets. • Two particles of yeast discuss the meaning of life. (Kurt Vonnegut)

HOW DO THE PLANETS AFFECT ORGANIC LIFE? • By magnetic influence. - There is no way to shield magnetic influence (except by using shields made from magnetically permeable materials like iron). - The Earth does not shield organic life from the magnetic influence of the planets. • By electromagnetic radiation. - All planets emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and they also reflect EMR originating with the Sun. - The Earth’s atmosphere shields organic life from almost all shortwave radiation — shorter than visible light. It also shields part of the infrared spectrum but allows almost all radio waves to pass.

THE MAGNETIC EFFECT • The planet’s (plus the Sun and Moon) continually bathe the Earth in magnetic fields that combine the influence of two or more planets. • We too have magnetic fields and these planetary magnetic fields influence us if we are open to that. (Personality is a shield.) • The strength and motion of these magnetic fields vary between locations according to the angle they make with each other. • The strength of the field seems to relate to the cosine of the angle. (Hence the trines and sextiles, conjunctions and oppositions of mundane astrology).

THE INFLUENCE OF EMR (ACCORDING TO GURDJIEFF) • Gurdjieff suggested that this planetary influence has its greatest impact at the time of conception. • In The Tales, he also champions the use of astrology for determining marriage partners. It is interesting to note that the procedure he describes was in use in South India by vedic astrologers, and that may still be the case. • Vedic astrologers use very similar methods to Western Astrologers. It is based on time and place of birth. The evidence suggests that they are dealing with the magnetic influence of the planets. • When a child is born, it is no longer shielded by the influence of the mother and it takes its first breath, breathing in the magnetic influence of the planets in that particular place at that time. “Imagine a big wheel, hanging upright above the earth, with seven or nine enormous colored spotlights fixed round the rim. The wheel revolves, and the light of now one and now another projector is directed toward the earth— thus the earth is always colored by the light of the particular projector which illuminates it at a given moment. All beings born on earth are colored by the light prevailing at the moment of birth, and keep this color throughout life. Just as no effect can be without cause, so no cause can be without effect. And indeed planets have a tremendous influence both on the life of mankind in general and on the life of every individual man. It is a great mistake of modern science not to recognize this influence. On the other hand this influence is not so great as modern "astrologers" would have us believe. Man is a product of the interaction of three kinds of matter: positive (atmosphere of the earth), negative (minerals, metals) and a third combination, planetary influences, which comes from outside and meets these two matters. This neutralizing force is the planetary influence which colors each newly born life. Views p193

ELECTROMAGNETIC INFLUENCE • The planets directly affect humanity through the endocrine system (Rodney Collin, TCI) • There is a correspondence between the endocrine glands and the planets which suggest the impact (Rodney Collin, TCI). • This gives rise to a system of human types. (Rodney Collin, TCI) • The circulation of light within the solar system may parallel the circulation of hormones in the human body. • All mobile biological life forms have an endocrine system. - 13. ” “ The evolution of humanity beyond a certain point, or, to speak more correctly, above a certain percentage, would be fatal for the moon. The moon at present feeds on organic life, on humanity. Humanity is a part of organic life; this means that humanity is food for the moon. Gurdjieff
- 14. ORGANIC LIFE: FOOD FOR THE MOON • Some substances of organic life mix with some substances of the Moon. The neutralizing force is the Earth. The result is that the Moon is fed. Humanity can be active or passive in this. • Most likely the Moon feeds on H96 (the energy of the immune system and also of false personality) and also H48 (the energy of personality). • They may be the substances Abrustdonis and Helkdonis that Gurdjieff mentions in The Tales. • The evidence suggests that at death a splitting apart occurs (rascooarno) between essence and personality (and possibly also the body of reason). • The Earth, by its electrical and magnetic nature transports the “food” the Moon requires.
- 15. FA, SOL AND LA • Most likely plant life on Earth makes no contribution to feeding the Moon. It forms a substrate that enables animal life. • Th e note fa is one-brained beings, the note sol, two-brained and the note la three-brained. • One-brained beings “feel” with the instinctive function. • In two-brained beings the emotional center is “pure” in the sense that “wrong work of centers” is not possible. Th ey have a higher emotional center of some kind. Th is explains stories of dogs and cats who appear to “know things.” • Some men are in reality only one-brained and some only two-brained. Because of wrong work of centers Man can be lower than even a one-brained being.
- 16. BIOLOGICAL EVOLUTION • The evolution of organic life into new forms is a different triad with Sun as active force, Earth as passive and Planets as neutralizing. The result is the form of organic life. • It happens through the molding of DNA in some way and it is a complex process. Consider this: It is not enough to create a new viable life form, it is necessary to create a viable ecosystem that satisfies the trogoautoegocrat. • Nevertheless it will be carried out by the action of electromagnetic and magnetic forces as these are the only means whereby mixing of substances can occur.
- 17. THE HIEROGLYPH OF LIFE • Th e Side Octave from the Sun makes its appearance in the Hieroglyph of Life. • Th e central column: Man, Vertebrates, Invertebrates is Fa, Sol, La of the Side Octave.

OTHER UNKNOWNS • No other planets in our system are at all like Earth in respect of atmosphere or have a comparable Moon. • Most likely bacteria exists on all planets, but on its own it could not fill the interval between the planets and a single planet. In other words our Ray of Creation is unique within our system. • “Our interval” is only recently complete. • The data on exoplanets suggests that our system is unusual. It is more likely for gas giants (like Jupiter) to be closer to the Sun. However there is not much data. • Three-brained life forms from other systems would not look like us.
