Gmail's New Unsubscribe Button: A Game-Changer in the Fight Against E-commerce Spam

Tired of dealing with unwanted or promotional emails cluttering your inbox? Google, the US-based tech giant, is reportedly rolling out a new feature in the Gmail Android app to address this issue, an unsubscribe button. However, as of now, this feature is not widely available, and there is no information about its availability on iOS devices.

How it Works

As per a report from AssembleDebug on TheSpAndroid, the Gmail unsubscribe button is currently under development in the latest version of the Gmail app on Android. Positioned next to the sender's information, a simple tap on this button will efficiently unsubscribe you from future emails.

The report also highlights an update for Gmail on desktop, where an unsubscribe button will be automatically added to messages if an unsubscribe link is detected within the message. For mobile users, finding the unsubscribe button is as easy as tapping the three-dot menu icon.

When to Expect It

The clear 'Unsubscribe' button is expected to be a part of the latest Gmail update (version 2023.11.12) for Android smartphones, according to AssembleDebug.
